About Chris - a service user’s perspective

"As a mother of 3 neurodivergent children, who have all now (thankfully) completed school, and having worked with neurodiverse people for many years, I have an understanding of the many challenges that education poses for them/us. These difficulties include focusing and processing information, organising the information, task sequencing, motivation, and self-discipline.

Often the workload becomes so overwhelming that many very intelligent and capable people are not able to fulfil their potential. This can have such a detrimental impact on their self-esteem, belief and worth, that it can lead to depression, anxiety, and other mental health problems.

Many parents find tutors for their children, but oftentimes the children regard them as another teacher and it is often not the subject content that they struggle with, but what to do with it.

Chris has walked this path himself (as a neurodivergent person), and despite the great many challenges he faced along the way he managed to achieve 2 degrees, and a PhD! His journey led him to develop many strategies and skills to achieve his goals, and gave him an in-depth insight into what is required to get through school and university. In fact in order to get himself through, he studied studying.

He is now working to share this invaluable knowledge with people of all ages, and is providing a unique service to support them through their journeys, enabling them to achieve their potential.

In the time that Chris has been working with my son, I have seen him grow in confidence, focus and motivation. He has been able to approach tasks knowing how to organise his work, and with an understanding of what he needs to show, and how to achieve that.

He finds Chris easy to talk to, easy to understand, and incredibly helpful. I would recommend Chris to any child or adult who struggles with the challenges that education poses, especially if they are on the Autistic spectrum or have ADHD.

The service that Chris provides is unique, and so much needed. His work is guided by his own learning, and his passion to help others who are encountering the struggles that he did. He is engaging, light-hearted, and brings humour to his work, while being caring, patient and understanding.

This kind of enabling, empowering support is a ray of sunshine in what can be the darkest times of a person’s life."
